An intriguing presentation of scientific innovation through the ages, more based on conceptual themes than subjects. Exhibits from the mundane to the thought provoking. Well worth a visit and it's right next to the botanic gardens, also worth a view.
Wonderfull collection. Not the largest, but with some awesome scientific tools and findings. It's a must see for all that dare to doubt.
It is amazing how much is packed into such a space. The gardens , greenhouses and a museum are packed full and interesting for all ages.
Really my kind of museum! Very interesting collection, with a good storyline. The explanations via the tablets are very good and easy to follow. I wished for more time in the museum, but I was really hungry and thirsty. Room for improvement: I missed something to eat/drink. I really want to come back, to learn more and hopefully with dry weather, because the botanical gardens are also worth a visit.
Excellent concept - much more interesting and engaging than most museums. Communicates the scientific process, creating order from a chaotic world and the importance of doubt. Fantastic.
the way this museum presents the items in categories related to the way humans tend to put things in "boxes" is interesting. the combination of items that at first glance seem unrelated, yet end up adding to the same point is well thought out. definitely recommend.
A nice new museum in Ghent, connected to the University. The museum offers two floors dedicated to science, knowledge, thinking, doubt and research. The exhibition offers an impressive amount of objects according to themes. Interactive displays provide a lot of information. The objects are set up attractively and well thought of. There is an interesting exhibition on perspective, architecture and composition in Jan van Eyck’s Madonna with Kannunik Van der Paele. The museum is in a university building in the pretty botanical gardens. There is a small shop. Staff was friendly. Well worth a visit.
Ghent University Museum is a must see in the city. It has various exhibitions related to every aspect of science inside and a very vast botanical garden outside.
